Carolien is DIYing: copying is allowed

The votes have been counted. Happy to see that the turnout was high and many found it important to make their voices heard. Now, of course, we still need to see what the coalition will be and whether there will actually be significant changes compared to now. I sincerely hope that the parties will work well together to get out of this crisis with the future of our children constantly in mind.

Despite the many setbacks in construction, there are fortunately also a lot of bright spots. For example, the painter started this week with the first layer of paint, and now that the colors are coming to life on the walls, it really starts to feel like a ‘finished’ house. All colors are from the brand Zoffany and are very beautifully intense in terms of colors. A hint: no wall will remain white in our house.

This week I visited Sanquin for the first time to test whether I am suitable as a blood donor. Me, who totally cannot stand needles. But seeing their campaign and the enormous demand for new donors made me feel called to take action. I can tell you: there were only friendly people around who were incredibly kind and helpful, I received clear explanations and information about what to expect if I am allowed to donate, and there was a huge table of sweet treats (#teamrozekoek) ready for everyone who had just donated blood. I will soon receive the results of whether I am eligible to donate.

For weeks I have been googling with Jon to choose the tiles for the bathroom in the boathouse. Excusez. BOATHOUSE? Yeah, it's ridiculous. I really can't wait to let friends stay here, and there is a tiny little bathroom included. And finally, we have made a decision. Drumroll. It will be dark green herringbone on the walls and white herringbone on the floor. I can't wait until it's on the walls.
