Celebs who lie about the dumbest things

Wooops, a little white lie is something everyone does sometimes. A bit awkward when you get caught. Completely awkward when, like many, you get caught, because then the world enjoys it too. Even worse when it doesn't even seem like a little white lie, but just a really strange lie. One that you genuinely don't understand why you would lie about. But well, they did it anyway — and got caught. The celebrities below, for example.

1. Bow Wow
Imagine this: you have to sit in economy. Among the plebs. That's of course a disgrace for a rapper who hasn't scored a hit in over a decade. So what do you do? You post a photo on social media of a private jet and declare that you're going to fly with it. A bit awkward when you're then photographed by a follower sitting next to you in economy. Oops.

2. Dakotha Johnson
This is such a strange lie that I find it kind of funny. The actress lied about the fact that she loves lemons. She told Architectural Digest during a tour of her house that she loves the fruit, but later confessed to Jimmy Fallon that she doesn't like lemons at all. In fact, she's somewhat allergic to them. The bowl of lemons was just there for show and she didn't dare to admit that at the time.

3. SZA
I'm not really familiar with this artist and her music, but apparently lying is her favorite hobby. She once said that she has never owned a television and asked if people had any brand recommendations because ‘she wanted one now’. Additionally, she claimed to be allergic to almost all kinds of fruit and vegetables, that she didn't like cake, that she would be a marine biologist (whut?) and she lied about her age. Ooookee.


4. Paula Abdul
A very strange lie, if it is a lie. According to the artist, she was involved in a plane crash in 1992. The mysterious thing is that there is no record of this crash anywhere. Paula Abdul mentioned quite a few details, such as the cause of the crash and how many people she was with, but so far no one has found evidence that it actually happened.

5. Christina Aguilera
She stated in 2016 that her new album would be released at the end of the year. She promised it. We got the album Liberation in 2018 after a long (very long) wait.

6. One Direction
They said their break would last eighteen months. And here too: we are still waiting.

7. Rita Ora
I find this so hilarious. She tweeted that when that tweet got 100,000 retweets, she would drop her new music. Those retweets were nowhere near achieved, she deleted the tweet and then said she was hacked. Hm-hm. Sure.

8. Rihanna
She said we could expect a new album in 2019. We are still waiting for that too. Why do celebs lie so much?
