Christmas in quarantine: here's how to still make it a party

Last month we were still hopeful about easing towards the holidays, but this weekend we celebrate Christmas at one and a half meters distance or maybe even worse: home alone due to a positive corona test. Doesn't really sound like the most wonderful time of the year, but hey, we can make the best of it. Chin up and put on your glitter dress because I'm going to tell you how to. Here it comes.
No pajamas allowed
You celebrate Christmas in a festive outfit. Dipped in glitter, with eye-catching shoes or a well-curled hairstyle, so this year is no different. In fact, this time you can just add an extra touch for that very merry Christmas post on your Instagram. Because yes: for a change, you actually have all the time in the world for the perfect Christmas tree picture.
Decorate the place
Well, you know what they say: life is a party, but you have to hang the decorations yourself. Bet that with an extra Christmas bouquet and star confetti around your dinner, you'll feel your best even when you're alone?
Bake Christmas treats
Baking not only works well as occupational therapy, it's also the most important ingredient for a successful Christmas party. And okay, if you're one of the few who still isn't bored at home or you're just not that into baking, you can still order a lot of fun and delicious Christmas treats.
Make a Christmas playlist for yourself
Gather all your favorite songs and instant happy tunes to play on repeat all day and sing along loudly. So nice: you don't have to consider anyone else. You can dance out of rhythm and silly requests don't have to be played during your Christmas weekend anymore.
Treat yourself to an extra nice gift
Another advantage of a mini party: you have enough budget left to slide an extra nice gift for yourself under the Christmas tree.
All you need is love on repeat.
That’s all you need. Tamtadamtadam.
Order your favorite food
Sushi, Italian or even Dunkin’ Donuts for dinner: whatever you feel like, you order exactly what you want and you don't have to consider Christmas traditions that you're not really a fan of.
Do a Christmas movie marathon
Including. Home Alone, Elf, The Princess Switch, The Knight Before Christmas, The Holiday, A Christmas Prince (and all sequels), The Spirit of Christmas, The Christmas Chronicles, Love Actually, Bad Santa, The Polar Express, Klaus, How The Grinch Stole Christmas, The Holiday Calendar, Holidate, Office Christmas Party, Mannenharten, All You Need is Love, De Familie Claus and… Well, you get it, right?
Still a bit together
Try to join as many moments as possible via a video call. This way, you still have your favorite people around you during Christmas.
