Documentary about Britney shows her bizarre life

It was a bit of a matter of time, because yes: we all want to see this, of course. Behind closed doors, there seems to be so much going on at the Spears household, and she can claim at the top of her lungs that everything is great; we don't believe it. Because why else would she file those lawsuits? Against her own father, no less, with whom she is still under guardianship.

Which means he can decide EVERYTHING about her. EVERYTHING. When she performs, whether she can get a coffee, or if she can refuel the car. If it has to do with money, then Jamie Spears decides. Bizarre.

And now there’s a documentary coming out about her life and what’s really going on. For 75 minutes, it tells how Britney became who she is: from a little star on Disney Channel to a megastar who had a public nervous breakdown.

And especially Britney's friends and colleagues get to speak. Felicia Culotta says: ‘I never understood what Jamie's conservatorship really entailed. But what I do know is that Britney, given her age and life experience, is perfectly capable of taking care of herself. There will come a time when she can tell her own story, exactly as it happened. And I really look forward to that day, because then everything will become completely clear.’

It should be clear: the people who speak out are not exactly on her father's side. And rightly so, I think. Even her own mother (her parents are divorced) understands nothing of this arrangement.

The documentary is called Framing Britney Spears and it will be released on February 5. It will be available on Hulu but is likely also streamable in other ways.
