Expedition Robinson: The Aftertalk

For almost a month now, the contestants have been on the island where zero food can be found, in other words: Croatia. And we keep watching obediently. In the meantime, Expedition has guided us through several lockdowns, at least that's how it feels. But well, tonight was just wonderfully exciting again. And especially for the first time really intensely deliciously false.

1. …Chef Mario? How much food are the contestants getting this season for God's sake?

2. Seriously, I barely recognize Anouk anymore. The way she looks now is just a completely different person than 27 episodes ago.

3. Expedition Robinson 2021: contestants get a private chef who prepares an extensive lunch for them. It's pure suffering in 2021.

4. HAHA. That dance of Britte during the arrival of the feast.

5. Although, feast? That octopus looks really terrifying. In fact, it makes me a bit nauseous. Just give me one of Mario's burgers.

6. I would really like to be a fly on the wall during the discussions about the program. There must have been huge stress because they constantly have to bring food, otherwise the contestants would starve?

7. I still find it so strange that not a single presenter is at the trials on Winner Island. Last week, there was really a bit of cheating with that whole ‘your arm must stay straight’, which only Yuki adhered to.

8. No idea by the way if you could cheat with this trial, because I still don't quite understand what the intention is.

9. Before Expedition, I really had no idea how JayJay is, but I have become a huge fan. The man secretly also has quite a bit of humor.

11. This was actually a life-threatening trial: having to climb up severely emaciated and without a safety net. I would definitely be crippled and exhausted back down within five seconds.

13. And the award for the most lukewarm welcome ever goes to the return of Jasmine.

20. Now I have to say that the makers this season are not always that sharp with editing. During the personal interviews, you can often spot who has won, let alone when you look at the participants who are already being announced by Luuk Ikink: we see them before the climax.
