Ghislaine Maxwell found guilty

Ghislaine Maxwell found guilty

YES. Hallelujah. Justice has been served, finally. Late last night (Dutch time), Ghislaine Maxwell was found guilty in New York of all but one of the charges. In total, Maxwell was charged with six things. This means that the jury is convinced that she helped Jeffrey Epstein in abusing girls, among other things by recruiting victims for him.

The jury deliberated for five days about this outcome. During the trial against Maxwell, four victims shared their stories. Maxwell herself said nothing; she felt it was ‘not necessary because the prosecutors could not prove she was guilty anyway.’ That turned out to be quite different from what she thought. And thankfully so.

Maxwell listened silently and emotionlessly to the jury's verdict. The latter is also quite characteristic of her behavior during this trial. For example, during one session, she drew the courtroom sketch artist on her notepad, who was sketching her back while she did that (speaking of inception). That artist, Elizabeth Williams, said she had never experienced anything like it in her 40-year career.

Whether Ghislaine Maxwell will ever confess her guilt, I seriously wonder. In any case, the chance that she will ever have a life outside the bars is quite small. If she had been found guilty on all six charges, she could have received a maximum of 80 years. Since it has become five, that is 65 years. The final sentence will still be determined, but considering that she is now 60 years old, she will likely spend the rest of her life in an orange jumpsuit. You won't hear me complain.
