Hairdresser secrets: this is the new hair trend à la Balayage

Attention: there is a new trend in hairland and I am totally a fan. My loyal hairdressers Bryan and Justin from BRUSH Hair & Make-Up sent me photos of it and my reaction was immediately: ‘What is this and when can I come by for exactly this hairstyle?’ By the way, that is a mistake I have made often: seeing a photo and then expecting to look exactly like that. That has caused quite a few tears in my earlier years, I can tell you.
But well, move over balayage, because I present to you: shatush, a new coloring technique that I really think is amazing. With a shatush, parts of the hair are dyed with blonde and golden highlights, in a sort of ‘sweeping’ manner. This makes it look very subtle as if you have just come back from a lovely sunny vacation, making your locks a bit blonder.
So it gives just that little extra, but still requires little maintenance. A win-win situation, if you ask me. I asked my sources (because Bryan and Justin are bombarded weekly with hair questions from me and are fortunately very patient experts) how this works.

With shatush, a part of your hair is teased before you dye it, so that only a portion of the hair is dyed. This creates a natural transition and makes your hair blend well. Even better: no foils are used. That is also much better for your hair, because foils cause heat and that can be quite harmful to your hair. Just like with a balayage, it is worked from your roots to your tips.
Just check how beautiful this is; I already have my Christmas look in mind, you know. I also communicated that right away with the guys from BRUSH Hair & Make-Up, who have been using this technique in their salon for quite some time. If you have any questions about how, what, and especially when you want to do this, definitely contact them via Instagram. I speak from experience when I say you can ask them anything. Together they are the owners of their salon in Amsterdam, where I have been going for several years now, and they are truly the best. And I can know, because I have gone through quite a few salons over the years.
