How dangerous it is when you sleep little

Elles Nijkamp, one of the best makeup artists in the Netherlands, believes that the best remedy for beautiful skin is a long night of good sleep. Columnist Cornald Maas sometimes says he finds sleeping a waste of his time, but it is essential for the recovery of our body.
7 to 8 hours
On average, we need 7 to 8 hours of sleep. Some may get by with six hours, while others enjoy ten delightful hours between the sheets, but on average, 7 or 8 hours should be sufficient.
The danger of sleep deprivation
That's no joke. You can imagine that it makes you tired, yawning, and grumpy, but did you know that you have a higher chance of dementia if you chronically sleep too little? And that you're at greater risk for diabetes? And that your skin ages because of it? And your speech ability declines? And your memory and concentration? I hope I’m not giving you more to worry about and that it won't be impossible tonight.
Here's how to solve it
Ensure good sleep hygiene. Think all day about how you're going to sleep well tonight and start to massage that into yourself from around seven in the evening. Don't drink coffee anymore, but have relaxing tea (the sleepy time really works) or eat something that produces melatonin, like cherries. Put away your laptop and phone from around eight o'clock and read a book or watch TV. Try to go to bed at the same time every day, if possible, and follow the same ritual each day (for example, first take a bath, then read a bit, etc.), so your body unconsciously feels: we are going to sleep.
Do you have extra trouble sleeping when it's warm? We have three tips for that.
