6 mistakes everyone makes with conditioner: here's how to get soft ends

So annoying: you buy tons of conditioner, but you still have just as dry dead ends as always. You’re probably using your conditioner wrong.
Apparently, we all make these six mistakes, and often. The trick is to know them, so you can go through a smooth lock the winter. It looks nice under that hat, right? Gone are the days when you had tangles and bird nests in your hair; from now on, you are a conditioner expert.
1. Use a different one often
You can find a really good one and stick with it for a long time, but it’s better to switch conditioners regularly. Just a different brand, a different flavor. Different ingredients can give your hair that little extra fluff. Exactly what you want.
2. Only on your ends
No, you don’t apply conditioner to your scalp or throughout your hair: just on your ends is enough. Clear once and for all, now.
3. Distribute well
When applying to your ends it sometimes goes wrong: you really need to take the time to apply it well to all your ends. If possible, spread it over all the loose hairs. Don’t rush and just blob it in and rinse it out. Make sure to give all the hairs at the bottom a soft dot of conditioner, let it sit for at least two minutes, and only then rinse it out.
4. Rinse very well
One of the reasons women have greasy hair is that they don’t rinse their shampoo and conditioner out properly. Again, it’s a matter of: take your time. Yes, we’re all busy. Always. Always in a hurry. But if you want to wash your hair, do it with a bit more patience. You’ll see that your awkward haircut will improve.
5. Expensive products
Honestly: expensive shampoo or expensive conditioner does work just a bit better than very cheap stuff. Sorry. But if your budget allows, invest in a bottle that you can only buy at the salon and be extra careful with it. Better than slapping cheap stuff from the drugstore through it.
6. Always use it
Even after a mask, you put conditioner in your hair. There are no exceptions: you always wash your hair and finish with this. Take your time for applying, letting it sit, and rinsing out, and you’ll never have dry ends again. You’re welcome.
