Did you also watch De Slimste Mens yesterday? The big final week has started, and yesterday Frank Evenblij, Rob Kemps, and Tijl Beckand were in the chairs.

And that last one at least stirred something. In me and in tweeting Netherlands. I must honestly say that his humor and my humor don't really seem to match, because I never found him very funny. I always found him sympathetic, but yesterday he came across differently to me.

What I saw was more a mix of arrogance and misplaced, failed jokes. And so begrudging towards his fellow candidates. I found it secretly a bit painful to watch. And yet, of course, I kept watching, but the awkwardness was clearly palpable. Now I'm curious: would Tijl have sat in front of the TV like that yesterday? That he thought ‘Ouch, those jokes didn't quite land’? Anyway, Twitter went wild as I said.
