People who know me think that I only have one dress

Keep getting dressed, keep putting on makeup, keep shaving your legs, keep brushing your teeth, keep combing your hair. Really all handy advice in this lockdown time, but that's not where my problem lies. I recently discovered. I only lounge around in my sports outfit when I'm actually going to exercise later in the day, the rest of the time I get dressed and brush my teeth. It sometimes happens that I don't put on makeup, but I then brush that off as a detox day for my skin. For me, the opposite is actually quite a big problem.

When I go outside, I think: ah nice, I can wear something other than jeans with a shirt or sweater (because I'm all about convenience) and then I automatically grab my favorite dress. It's a dress that our Lotte once ordered for me at Net-a for a discount that makes your head spin. But because of that dress I suddenly look ridiculous.

I have a lockdown strategy on social media, so it seems like I'm doing something other than walking, eating, and drinking wine. Almost all of 2020 I recycled photos. Work photos, fun snapshots, and also my vacation album. And when I did something once, I took a trillion photos of it that I then posted in six parts. It seemed very handy to me, until I suddenly saw that actually my entire wardrobe can go out the door. I only wear one dress now. It was already quite present in the recycled photos, but when I get to go outside I only wear that thing. Which means that people who don't run into me every now and then must think that I only have one dress. A black one from Ganni, that much is true, but still: it's the same dress every time. Unintentionally, I have now achieved what people have been trying to get me to do for years: bring unity to my Instagram Shit, that was not the intention at all.

Recently, there’s even a hashtag that gets placed under photos when I wear that dress. I'm now considering sending Lotte out to find something like that for me, because it's at least a success. For when you think: I also only need one dress in my life because I have no idea what to wear when I go out: it's a black one and they still sell the same model, with just a slightly different sleeve. Make the most of it. So far they put my variant back in the collection every winter, so with a bit of luck and patience, it will come back. Although I don't know if you'll still want the dress then, because I will have definitely posted it sixteen times by then.
