People with a cat as a pet are smarter than people with a dog

Are you team cat or do you prefer a wagging labrador by your side? Either way, pets say a lot about your personality, according to researchers.
Because a cat person would be on average smarter than a dog person.
No time
The McKeown Clinic, which specializes in deciphering different mindsets of people, concluded after research among 600 respondents that a cat person is more often highly educated than a dog person. People with a kitten in their home more often have a university diploma in the cupboard. Dog people tend to be on average less educated.
How is that possible? The explanation is actually quite simple according to psychologists. Because cats require a bit less care and attention daily, people with a busy job or high position tend to start with a cat sooner than with a dog. It is precisely those people who have a lot of free time and work less hard have room for a dog, which still needs to be taken out three times a day and requires more attention. Highly educated people work on average more hours, making them less likely to choose a puppy. Of all pets, a cat that can go outside to pee actually takes the least time. After all, you have to clean a rabbit hutch, but an outdoor cat? You only need to give it kibble and pet it.

By the way, we also have many more cats as pets in the Netherlands: 23.4 percent of households have one or more cats and 17.8 percent have one or more dogs. In total, we have about 2.9 million cats as pets and 1.7 million dogs, according to the figures. Anyway, we love animals in our little country: we have a total of no less than 27 million pets for 17 million people. Is there any good news for dog lovers? Yes, because dog owners are often more social and extroverted people than cat types. And that is definitely worth something.
Oh, it is also nice to come home to your four-legged friend, no matter what education you have completed and whether you are introverted or extroverted. And it really doesn't matter if it's a dog or a cat ; as long as you are happy with it and they have a nice soft coat to pet.
