Pornstar Martini, who doesn't love it? It seems like we crave this tropical cocktail more than ever, because recently I made it from a handy cocktail tube, and now there are also cans of Pornstar Martini for sale.
It's not surprising: during all those annoying lockdowns, cocktail bars were closed, but we still want to drink (more..) alcohol. So it has to be at home and thus the ready to serve drinks are gaining popularity worldwide. Passion fruit mixed with vodka and vanilla, what’s not to like?
From cocktail bar to cocktail can
Thanks to corona, many hospitality businesses had to close their doors. So did Williams Canteen; a beloved restaurant-cocktail bar on Witte de Withstraat in the heart of Rotterdam. To cater to fans, the faces behind Williams came up with the idea to deliver high-quality cocktails in cans to homes. Jamil and Stefanie Sancha and Kim Riekwel, together with Ben Lobos, winner of Diageo World Class 2018, developed the perfect cocktail in a can for the home market.
Achieving the same result at the home bar is not for everyone. But still: with such a canned cocktail, you can get quite far, especially if you don't have various cocktail gadgets available. Just make sure to have nice glassware for your cocktail, everything tastes better from nice glass than from cheap glass. Shake the can for at least five seconds hard before opening. Pour the Pornstar into a martini glass and garnish with a slice of passion fruit.
