The most bizarre dressing room demands from celebs
Sometimes you get the idea that celebrities are just like us, just normal people, and sometimes… they are really far from that. When I sleep in a hotel, I am crazy about free gadgets, whether it's a drink waiting for you in the room, some snacks, or just shower products from a luxury brand. Then my happiness knows no bounds. But yes, I am not a world-famous actress or rock star, because they have quite a few other things on their wish list when they stay in a hotel or have a dressing room somewhere. They call it a rider in Hollywood, and I mainly call it bizarre. Just check out these celebs and what they all want to see when they arrive.
Justin Bieber
If you want The Biebs in your dressing room or hotel, you have to dig deep into your pockets. In 2017, his rider leaked on Twitter, and we could see that he wants a jacuzzi, ten luxury sedans, and two Volvo vans that he can use at any time. Well: his staff. He himself wanted a Rolls-Royce. Furthermore — sympathetic — he makes sure that among other things his ping pong table, Playstation, washing machine, refrigerator, and massage table are flown in. That's a total of TEN containers. But well, he takes care of that himself. In his room, there must be white curtains, a refrigerator with a large glass door, eight power outlets (what specifically this, huh), vegetables with ranch dressing, black olives, cheddar popcorn, and Haribo cola candy. And about twenty other types of food, but I found this the most striking. Quite a spicy list.
Selena Gomez
The ex of The Biebs was completely fed up with him after they broke up in 2014. Therefore, no one she came into contact with in her dressing room could be named Justin. So if there were people with that name, they temporarily got another one. Weird. But further she kept it quite simple: chicken and pickle.
Jennifer Lopez
It's a shame that Sensation White no longer exists, because that was really her dream party. J.Lo wants everything in the room to be white. Not just the curtains or the floor, no, EVERYTHING. Excuse: off-white.
Mariah Carey
This woman has diva written all over her and that is also reflected in her rider. She only wants Evian water, unless she wants tea; then it must be Poland Spring water. And Cristal champagne with bendy straws to drink from. Not much, but very pricey. What makes it even weirder is that she wanted someone by her side whose only task was to throw away her chewing gum.
Madonna
Boss above boss, because Madonna is just a bit more of a real diva. She wants her dressing room to look exactly like her room at home (she brings her own furniture). Notably, she wants a new toilet seat of a certain brand in every dressing room or hotel room she visits. Uh, okay?
Kevin Hart
This one is very special: this actor/comedian asked for five women aged 21-27 with an ‘athletic/sexy build’, who had to come one hour before and one hour after the show. Clothing for these women was provided and the only sizes that could be delivered were XS, S, and M. Pervert.
Adele
Not all celebs are that weird, some demands seem completely logical to me. For Adele, during her ‘21 tour’, it was a pack of Marlboro Light and a lighter, two bottles of the best red wine from California, and one bottle of the best sauvignon blanc from California. And then in capital letters behind it: ‘NO CHARDONNAY!’ Honestly: I get it. I'm not a fan of Chardonnay either.
One Direction
Okay, one more that is really great and because I like them so much. When One Direction hadn't taken a break yet (I refuse to believe they are broken up for good), they wanted the dressing rooms during their tour to have a refrigerator that could be fully stocked with beer at any moment (logical), a ping pong table (logical), a lot of Kentucky Fried Chicken (of course), and soft toilet paper (I completely agree with them). How fun would their tour have been? Sounds great to me.
