The most delicious terraces in the country to join on the 28th

Kiki on a terrace with food and drinks

Waiting for the perfect spot. The sliding of the terrace chairs. The sunglasses on or off dilemma. That perfect glass of slushy wine and the crunching of the cheese sticks. Sigh.

Wherever you long for: from April 28, it will be possible again to settle down on one of the many terraces that the Netherlands has to offer. The Fork compiles a list of the finest spots.

Hygge (Utrecht)
Well, those Danes really understand it. Hygge = cozy and comfortable and that is exactly what we crave when we can finally enjoy the terrace with our loved ones again. Settle down in this nice spot, choose your favorite cocktail and trust me, it’s wonderful to linger on this terrace in my Dom city.

The Green Rose (Arnhem)
In one of the cutest little streets of Arnhem, you will find restaurant The Green Rose. Chef Jin Hu cooks with the seasons and follows a ‘no-waste’ principle. They ferment their products, use their own livestock from nose to tail, and source vegetables from local growers. Be sure to reserve a spot in time and enjoy a high-level lunch.

SkyLounge Amsterdam (well duh, Amsterdam)
Here’s another tip from me: on the eleventh floor of the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, you’ll find one of my favorite terraces in Amsterdam. The name says it all: it feels like lounging in the sky. The terrace is spacious, the cocktails are shaken with nothing but love, and you have the most beautiful view over the capital. Trust me: this is not for nothing an award-winning rooftop lounge bar. And I haven’t even mentioned the days when they also have sushi...

Het Badpaviljoen (Domburg)
At Het Badpaviljoen, you kill two birds with one stone: a fantastic view of the Zeeland coast, including a good glass of wine and fish on your plate. Is getting married on your wish list? When it’s possible again, this is the perfect wedding location...

Rooftop Zoetelief (Den Bosch)
With 120 square meters of rooftop terrace, Rooftop Zoetelief is doing just fine. You have a fantastic view over the city and can choose from all sorts of different small dishes, lunch, and bites. And what do you think of the wide selection of cocktails and wines? Chop chop, off to this place by the rivers.

Wall-Stock 61 (Maastricht)
A fan of craft beer and a burger? Look no further, because Wall-Stock 61 has everything you want. Add a large heated terrace and a cozy atmosphere, and you have all the ingredients for a chill spring afternoon. A bit of a shame about that 6 PM closing time though... But hey, it’s a start.
