The most ridiculous storylines of Grey's Anatomy

It is of course logical that if your show has been on TV for over sixteen years, the inspiration will eventually run out. Then you can choose to quit, or — and this is certainly the case with Grey’s Anatomy — just see how long you can keep it up. Hey, if people keep watching, it doesn't matter, right? By now, actress Ellen Pompeo has also honestly admitted that she is just participating for the paycheck. Rightly so, she is of course part of a goldmine. If you are assured of a good pension and you are fine with continuing, why not? I would trade places with her in a heartbeat. But pff… Those actors and actresses must not always have it easy, having to play all those ridiculous storylines with a straight face?

Because seriously, what has passed in review so far… It's quite a lot. And there's a good chance you've already forgotten some of them, even if you've been a dedicated viewer from the start. When you see these storylines lined up like this, I find it quite confronting. Writers, is everything okay over there?

1. Izzie had sex with the ghost of her deceased ex-fiancé. Yes, of course this is number one. This is really about the weirdest thing I've ever seen on TV.

2. All of Meredith's secret sisters just happened to be doctors as well.

3. Meredith and George had sex and it was so bad that Meredith had to cry.

4. George later decided to leave the hospital, but that same day he returned as a patient. Just that alone is quite remarkable.

5. But it can get worse: he was so injured that no one recognized him, until just before he succumbed to his injuries. Oooookee.

6. McDreamy survived the plane crash while he was falling out of the plane. That was still in the air. HOW?.

7. Everything surrounding that whole plane crash was really bizarre, by the way.

8. McDreamy’s car stopped in the middle of a road to read a message on his phone and then he was hit by a truck.

9. He was then declared brain dead and Meredith decided to pull the plug without informing any of his family.

10. Meredith drowned and went to the afterlife, but then decided that she really didn't want to die, came back to life, and just woke up.

11. Meredith and McDreamy gave their wedding away to Izzie and Alex because Izzie was dying from a brain tumor.

12. Izzie survived that and then divorced Alex.

13. The musical episode. Need I say more?
