These are the tastiest instant noodles from the supermarket

noodles

Say wine, snacks or haute cuisine and the gourmands at online food magazine FavorFlav know where to drink, how to eat it and what to cook. This time our cheffies serve you: the best instant noodles available.

Of course, the real thing is often best, but I can so enjoy a simple indomie once in a while. You can pimp it with an egg, garlic or whatever you like, but on a broken Sunday it is also very doable without all the fuss, I think. Well, some noodle soups then. Because there is quite some difference between brands and flavours. That's why I have compiled an ultimate list for your upcoming broke day: the best indomies out there.

Some you can easily find on supermarket shelves, others you may have to order online, but then you have something, you know.

1. Indomie Mi goreng
Yes, this golden oldie I can of course immediately put at number one. Simple, cheap but oh so tasty. And I always really like that egg you can add to it.

2. Nongshim Shin Ramyun
I saw these being tipped so often on the internet that I went to investigate. And what turns out: they are just on the shelves at Albert Heijn. WHUT. Definitely try these, because even though they are a bit more expensive (but at over a euro, it's still not exactly a rib off your body), these are my favo at the moment.

3. Nissin Soba Teriyaki
From this brand, I often find it a bit hit-or-miss, but the teriyaki flavour is more than enough for me. Although I like it best if you pimp it with some extra vegetables, an egg and some herbs, but then it is really great.

4. Samyan Carbo Hot Chicken
Helaaasss this one is not available in supermarkets. At least, not in the bigger chains like Albert Heijn and Jumbo. You might still come across it in an Asian supermarket, and otherwise you can find it Ordering online at Tjin's Toko. I always feel that the instant ramen from Asian supermarkets are just a little bit better, and as far as I am concerned, this version confirms that. The curry flavour is also very tasty, especially if you add some extra coconut milk.

5. Nissin UFO Yakisoba
You can also find these in Asian supermarkets or online, but you're not going to find them at the Appie. And unlike the others on this list, this one really does suffice as a mega meal. A big bowl, but seriously really tasty. Of course, there's not a whole lot of healthy in them and they'll be mostly salty, but I don't mind that once in a while. These are just top notch.

6. Ottogi Jin Ramyun
These flavours come in spicy and non-spicy, but I like the former best. OK, it's spicy, but not quite my-mouth-is-on-fire. So even if you can't take spicy very well: just try this one. You order it online (or again if you are lucky at an Asian supermarket) and it costs one euro. No money. You are a thief of your own wallet if you pass it up.

More tips?
If you think this list is incomplete, please let me know. After all, there is a good to very good chance that I will be lying on the couch broke again on Sunday (with this weather, you have little excuse to go out anyway) and I do need one of those bowls full of comfort food.
