These are (currently) the 3 richest women in our country

This week brought good news: the women's quota is coming. It's a shame it has to be, but the fact remains that women often simply do not get a position because they are women. Awkward, because that's just something women usually don't want to change. What does it mean in practice? The Senate voted in favor of the bill that 30 percent of a board of publicly traded companies must consist of women. And let the publicly traded companies often provide the rich of the earth with a filled bank account. How does that actually work in the Netherlands? These are the three richest women in our country, but it can't be long before more come.
3. Els Blokker – 1.1 billion
The name says it all: Els is the heir of her husband Mr. Blokker. Even though the store had a bit of a rough time, that doesn't diminish the enormous wealth that the Blokkers have amassed with all those household essentials.
2. Gérita and Inge Wessels – 3.8 billion euros
The daughters and heirs of Dik Wessels are together worth a significant amount. Quote cheerfully places them together in the top five. The family owes the billions to their real estate empire.
1. Charlene de Carvalho-Heineken – 12.1 billion
A woman who prefers to let the spotlight pass her by. The daughter of Freddy Heineken inherited her father's empire, which brought her billions. She was briefly not at the top because she lives in London with her family, but she is now back at a lonely height. Although that probably won't last long.
The wealthy often sit comfortably due to substantial inheritances. Who is on their heels? The self-made millionaires and young rich, of course. For example, you have the Fentener van Vlissingen family, where six women are smartly doing business as owners of Makro and with interests in Bol.com and bedding giant Auping, Sylvia Tóth who amassed quite a bit with the employment agency Content, and Nina Storms made euros from her company World Online, although she does have a money laundering case hanging over her in Monaco. In that list of young millionaires, Doutzen Kroes appears in the top five with an estimated wealth of 30 million, but entrepreneur Nikkie Plessen still has a million or two to go before she overtakes the top model. Go get ‘em, girls.
