Loaded Fries

Say wine, snacks or haute cuisine and the food lovers of online food magazine FavorFlav know where to drink, how to eat and what to cook. This time our chefs serve you: This is what you want: loaded fries with pulled jackfruit.

The festival season has been postponed for another year (noooooo! We were so looking forward to Bacchus!) so we are going to make a party ourselves. And what do you always need at (or after) a party? Fries! More specifically: loaded fries! Because fries loaded with a delicious topping: nothing but love.

Ingredients

  • 440 g (oven) fries
  • 1 tbsp sunflower oil
  • Jackfruit, amount to taste
  • Rosita’s spice paste for pulled jackfruit
  • 100 ml coffee cream
  • 60 g cheddar
  • 1 spring onion
  • A handful of fresh coriander
  • 2 tbsp crème fraîche
  • Rosita’s sweet and sour cucumber slices

How to make the loaded fries with pulled jackfruit

  • Prepare the fries according to the instructions on the package.
  • Drain the pieces of jackfruit and rinse them under cold running water. Pull them apart with your hands or with a fork. Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the jackfruit pieces with the spice paste for 5 to 10 minutes over medium heat.
  • Slice the spring onion into rings and chop the coriander finely. If necessary, cut the cucumber slices into halves.
  • Heat the coffee cream in a saucepan and add the cheddar. Keep the heat low. When the cheddar has melted, your cheese sauce is ready. The coffee cream ensures a nice, thick sauce, which doesn’t work as well with regular milk.
  • Serve the fries topped with the pulled jackfruit, cheese sauce, spring onion, coriander, crème fraîche and cucumber slices.
