This is what the most common dreams mean

Sometimes I go through phases where I really dream so intensely. And not those nice dreams, where you marry a Leo DiCaprio or suddenly win the lottery, no, a dream where you suddenly find yourself in a world war and wake up just as you're being shot. Or that you're running away from a serial killer and not getting anywhere. That you suddenly have to give birth while you didn't even know you were pregnant. Or worse: that you're walking through the mall and suddenly realize you're naked. Or that all your teeth fall out one by one. THE HORROR.

So I always remember those kinds of dreams. And then I wake up with such a groggy feeling, I have no desire to start the day and I'm also in a bad mood until I go to bed again. Those kinds of nasty dreams can really throw me off. I started looking up what dreams mean. At first, I didn't really believe in it, but there must be a reason why you suddenly dream so intensely?

Especially because there are certain dreams that everyone has had at some point. A case of running-but-not-getting-anywhere, for example. Well, let's all float together for a moment, because I've looked up what all this means.

1. Being naked in your dream
If you feel ashamed of your nakedness in your dream, it may indicate that you are very concerned about what others think of you. For example, because there is a situation going on (or coming up) where you need to show yourself.

Does it seem like others don't care at all that you're the only one walking around naked? That seems to be exactly the case in real life: you worry about things that other people don't even notice.

If you are completely comfortable with your nakedness in your dream, it means that there is something in your life that you finally want or can be completely open about.

2. You are being chased
This explains a lot for me: you are a procrastinator if you often have this dream. Due to the stress that it causes, you feel like something — or in the case of your dream: someone — is chasing you.

If you try to avoid what is chasing you, it could indicate that you are also hiding from something in real life. That could be a feeling or a person.

Side note: if you happen to have lucid dreams, try confronting the person who is chasing you.

3. Your teeth are falling out
In dreams, teeth represent confidence. So if you lose them, you also lose confidence in yourself. This could be the case if you are currently doubting whether you are doing something right.

Falling teeth can also represent a significant shift in your life, especially when you lose something. That could be a broken relationship, but also the moment you get a new job.

4. Dreaming that you are running but not getting anywhere
This can have multiple causes. It may indicate that you don't have much confidence in yourself, but also that you feel helpless about a certain situation or in general.

By the way, if you dream that you are running and you are actually getting somewhere (lucky you), it may mean that you want to escape from something or that you are also figuratively running away from something in real life.

5. Dreaming that you are pregnant
Just as a baby grows in your belly, something is also growing in your life when you have this dream. It may be that you are going through a certain development or have made an important decision that has given your life a new direction. This dream mainly represents change, development, and renewal.

6. You have to take an exam or test but are not prepared
I hear this so much around me. That you graduated from high school over twenty years ago, but sometimes still dream that you have to take your final exam. And are not prepared. This could be because you are nervous about an important appointment coming up in your life or that you currently have too many responsibilities that are causing you stress.

7. Falling in your dream
Not to be confused with the feeling of falling when you're almost asleep, by the way. Falling from a great height in your dreams can mean that you feel you have little control over your life or a certain situation that is currently happening.

8. Being late in your dream
I have this so often too, where you spend your entire dream trying to get somewhere but just can't. So frustrating. This could be because, like falling, you feel you have little control or grip on your life. Great.
