Tip of the day: Palmer with Justin Timberlake

Palmer film with Justin Timberlake

Normally, I am always a bit wary when celebrities suddenly start acting. Or rather, I used to be. Because often they still miss the mark. Cara Delevingne is beautiful, and her modeling career, she had nothing to complain about, but acting? Nah, she probably shouldn't have done that. Britney Spears is a different case; she couldn't really act in Crossroads, but it was such a nice guilty pleasure that I didn't mind at all.

And then you have those people who seem to be able to do everything. Harry Styles in Dunkirk? I never saw him as the one from One Direction. And then you have Justin Timberlake, who has so many films to his name now that you no longer have to doubt whether this man can act or not. With Mila Kunis in Friends With Benefits: love it. In The Social Network likewise, and I personally found In Time a pretty bad movie, but that wasn't due to his acting skills.

Long story short: Justin Timberlake can really act well. If you happen to see him as a singer and can't let go of that image in his films: watch Palmer. What a great movie. Really nothing to complain about. Well, one little thing. Let me start with that. He is on… Apple TV.

HAHA, how spoiled am I that I find this a downside? But unfortunately, it really is. On Netflix and Videoland (okay, and I also have Hayu, Amazon Prime, Disney+, and thus Apple TV) I already have enough choice stress. No idea why, I guess because I am an iPhone user, but I kept getting emails that I was getting a free subscription to Apple TV. Now I love the word free, so I decided to take a look.

Honestly, follow my example because you want to see this movie. The story goes as follows: JT plays an old American football player who also has a long prison sentence. After being locked up for a long time, he wants to try to pick up his life again and returns to his hometown. There, he builds a special bond with a ten-year-old boy who has been abandoned by his mother.

Grab the tissues too, by the way, because you're going to need them. As far as I'm concerned, this is the tip of the month. Maybe even of the year, but I don't want to cheer too early. WATCH.
