Yes really, it can be that easy. Curious about what you need and especially how to make these tastiest minis? Just scroll down!
For 12 apple bite-sized snacks:
Ingredients
– 1 apple
– 30 grams of butter
– 1 tsp cinnamon
– 1 tsp apple syrup
– 2 1/2 tbsp granulated sugar
– 1/2 tsp lemon zest
– 270 grams of fresh puff pastry (roll)
- 1 egg
– Ice cube tray (12 cavities greased)
– Baking paper
And this is how you make them:
1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
2. Peel the apple, remove the core and cut the flesh into as small cubes as possible, about half a centimeter (brunoise).
3. Melt the butter in a saucepan, add the apple pieces and cinnamon, and cook for 2 minutes over medium heat.
4. Turn off the heat. Add the apple syrup, stir until the apple syrup has melted. Stir in 2 tablespoons of sugar and the lemon zest.
5. Roll out the puff pastry and halve it lengthwise. Roll one half of the puff pastry slightly and distribute it over the ice cube tray. Gently press the puff pastry into the ice cube molds with your fingers.
6. Distribute the apple mixture over the ice cube tray. Beat the egg and brush the dough with some egg.
7. Distribute the rest of the puff pastry over it and press down well. Turn the tray over, cut off the excess dough, and cut into 12 pieces.
8. Place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and brush with the remaining egg. Sprinkle with the remaining sugar. Bake for about 15 minutes in the middle of the oven until golden brown and cooked through.
