Tomorrow is D-Day again: will the terraces finally be allowed to open?

My attitude has been the same for a few months: expect nothing, then it can only be a pleasant surprise.
But when I read that the terraces would reopen on April 21, I momentarily set that attitude aside. Because of course I jumped for joy: finally back to the terrace! What a celebration. That you sit down at a table and someone comes to take your order and then brings it to you. Yes, really, I miss that whole experience so much.
We all know how that turned out, because to quote Trump: it was fake news. Or well, it had been true for a moment, until Rutte and De Jonge decided that we can’t have nice things, and then that plan was off the table. Okay, that’s a bit harsh, but it did feel that way when the 21st was crossed out.
So somewhere I don’t really dare to cheer anymore. But how nice it would be… As is always the case with press conferences (am I the only one who refuses to call them ‘persco’s’?), some things leak out beforehand. Just like now: the terraces could reopen ‘under conditions’ from April 28.
Insiders in The Hague say that this plan has received the green light. Another very nice easing will be the abolition of the curfew. I’m really done with having to be home on time every day. Of course, if the easing continues, we won’t go from 0 to 100 right away, so there will undoubtedly be an end time set for the opening of the terraces.
To what extent will the leaked easing measures be fake news? Caretaker Minister Tamara van Ark said today that hospital admissions seem to be going in the right direction, and that was what was needed, right? Can I cheer a little or will it be another disappointment tomorrow evening? Secretly, I am a bit nervous. You know what would help with those nerves? A freshly tapped beer.
