I am in love with the ‘Les Eaux’ collection from CHANEL, where each perfume refers to a place that colored the life of Gabrielle Chanel. There are Paris-Deauville, where she opened her first boutique, Paris-Biarritz where she further built her empire, and Paris-Venise where she mourned her deceased love Boy Capel.
I once had the opportunity to go to Deauville with CHANEL to discover these scents, by Orient Express from Paris to Deauville with a visit to the house where Marcel Proust wrote À la recherche du temps perdu. It was a magical spectacle that the beautiful bottles and fresh scents always remind me of. Now a new addition has been made: Paris-Édimbourgh.
Gabrielle Chanel met Hugh Grosvenor, the second Duke of Westminster, in 1924. Thanks to him, she became acquainted with the English high society and the excitement of horse racing. She drew inspiration from the Highlands, the Scottish Highlands, where vast green fields filled with crystal-clear lakes and rocky forests alternate.
The new scent is reminiscent of the highlands, it is fresh, powerful due to the mix of vetiver and juniper and woody notes. Oh, it is delightful and a feast for the eyes.
