Vandaag tippen we Floor17

When I'm on vacation or a city trip, I always look for the coolest rooftop bar. It's always so nice to view a city from a great height and it always has a touch of luxury. Enjoying cocktails at such a rooftop bar, it may sound cliché: but I love it.

And that's why I also find it a bit disappointing that Amsterdam doesn't really have many. Because it's quite a beautiful city from above. I know this because I dined at Floor17 this week and as the name suggests, it is indeed on the 17th floor. The 18th if you also count their rooftop terrace. It's really nice that this hotspot almost runs all the way around, allowing you to spot every corner of Amsterdam. I saw my own house in Oud-Zuid, but also the ArenA and that strange building at the Houthavens that is shaped like a toilet bowl.

What I did at Floor17? Enjoying their seven-course dinner and the accompanying wine and cocktail arrangement. And rolling home, but you can imagine that. The homemade ravioli was delicious, just like the steak tartare. And the duck breast. Ooh, and that viognier with it. And the dessert that I thought I wouldn't want after the cheese platter, but apparently I can't say ‘no’ to a combination of mango and chocolate.

Yes, if you feel like going all out with such a dinner: this is a very suitable place for that. But just a cocktail on the rooftop terrace, this is also a very suitable place for that. So take every excuse to admire that view.
