When I lived in Rotterdam and regularly moved around the city by bike (okay, okay: I often took the Felyx), the Meent was not unknown to me. Sometimes I would quickly cycle through, but more often it was my final destination. You can find the nicest restaurants there, the best bakery, the finest hairdresser and the most beautiful shops. And of that last one, the Meent is now one richer.
None other than FÉST opened their fifth store in the heart of Rotterdam last week. I love good looking comfort; not only in my clothing choices but also certainly in my interior, and FÉST shares my belief that modern and comfort go well together. Fun fact: the headquarters of fashion brand Karl Lagerfeld in Amsterdam already has quite a bit of FÉST in house.
In addition to an extensive collection of nicely affordable designer furniture (sofa's that are so comfortable you never want to get up), they sell unique home accessories and art from Rotterdam's Elsemarijn Bruys. If you happened to be at the back of the line when they were handing out interior styling talent, they also offer free (!) interior advice. The tables and chairs are also great to try out for a day through the flexible workspaces they offer in collaboration with WISE offering.
So if a home makeover is on the agenda this coming year, you're looking for a housewarming gift, or you're just ready for some renewal in your interior? Then this is a little tip from me to you.
