What's going on with that photo of Khloé Kardashian?

In case you missed it: yesterday there was panic in the Kardashian household. Not because of Kim's billionaire status (which, let's be honest, deserves praise) but because of a snapshot of Khloé. One of her assistants accidentally posted an unedited bikini photo of the reality star and Khloé didn't exactly find it a flattering photo of herself. It happens, you might think.
Her team was then tasked with getting the photo in question (check it out here, not very interesting, to be honest) offline. But as often in life: everything you give attention to grows. So the harder Khloé screamed that the poorly lit photo had to be taken offline, the more important the photo became, making everyone suddenly curious. Then came the hateful reactions from people who thought the lady was overreacting and could also go through life ‘not photoshopped’, like the rest of us. The fuss hasn't left Khloé unscathed, today she comes with a response on Instagram.
“The photo that was posted is beautiful. But for someone who has struggled with her own body image her whole life: if someone takes a photo of you that isn't flattering in, for example, bad light, or that doesn't show your body the way you want it to be seen because you've worked so hard for it – and then shares it with the world – then you should have the right not to have that shared. No matter who you are.”
“To be honest: the constant pressure from others about my entire life that should be perfect to meet other people's expectations is almost too much to bear. ‘Khloé is the fat sister.’ ‘Khloé is the ugliest sister.’ ‘Her father is probably not her real father because she looks so different.’ ‘The only way to lose so much must be plastic surgery.’ Should I go on?‘
According to Khloé, for almost ten years all her photos have been micro-analyzed and ridiculed for every detail and every imperfection. “I am reminded of that daily. And when I use that criticism as motivation to get myself in the best shape of my life (and even help others who struggle with their weight), then it is said that I didn't achieve that through hard work and must have paid for it.”
I must say: this post moved me. The text, and especially the vulnerability that seeps through it. The pressure from society and a woman who becomes insecure from all kinds of opinions about her life. Suddenly I became even more team Khloé than I already was. Let them talk, Khlo. I like you.
