Why dopamine dressing makes you extra happy

Most likely, when you see black, white, gray, beige, and nude shades, you think: yep, that's me. Because although there are a number of standout color trends every season, somehow we buy them too little. standout color trends, somehow we buy them too little. Or well, at least I do. And after a little research, it seems that over 80 percent agrees with me. Time to change that, because besides the whole trend-watching story, there is an even more important reason to wear more color: happiness.
Those who go all out with a colorful outfit have a greater chance of happiness, says color expert Karen Haller. And dear black on black on black lovers, please don't get me wrong: just because you wear a lot of black doesn't mean you're suddenly a terribly gloomy figure (On the contrary: read here about all your qualities.). The Little Book of Colour tells us that wearing a bright color helps you feel more confident in most cases, which is also known as dopamine dressing. Research has shown that we behave ‘differently’ when we take in color through our eyes, which then goes to the part of the brain where emotion resides. We associate colors with certain feelings and unconsciously you will also act accordingly. For example, a bright red coat is comparable to a shot of espresso (it gives you an energy boost), fuchsia makes you feel more confident, and a yellow dress would make you a lot more enthusiastic. Oh, and blue helps you maintain calm and also makes you feel more relaxed. So, dopamine dressing. I'm all for it. It's not a guarantee for happiness, but it's worth a try in my opinion.
