Why you should watch The Undoing and five fascinating facts
I'm completely into it. And you know me a bit, there's a Jehovah's Witness inside me. If I find a book, restaurant, or series amazing, I want you to experience that joy too. So tonight, when the dishwasher is humming and your phone is on life support, you go to HBO (you probably have it in your package without knowing it) and search for The Undoing.
In short
We see an extremely successful couple, played by Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant. She is a psychiatrist, he is a pediatric oncologist. They live on the Upper East Side, with a child at the most expensive private school in New York; no clouds in the sky. Until a rather busty woman appears on the schoolyard, gets murdered, and the bubble of the Frasers suddenly bursts. Hugh (or Jonathan Fraser) turns out to have been fired for three months without her knowing, and the relationship wasn't as cozy as it seemed. Well: suddenly both are suspected of murder.
Five fascinating facts
- Nicole Kidman is the executive producer of this series. Hats off, Nicole.
- Kidman sang the theme song herself. She initially didn't want to, but after much persuasion from the director, she did it anyway.
The beach house of the Fraser family is for rent via Airbnb. For 1000 euros per night, it's yours. - The Frasers' house was also recently for sale. This brick wall townhouse was on the market for a messy 29 million.
- Donald Sutherland plays the immensely wealthy father of Grace, Nicole Kidman. This is the second time he plays her father.
- The Undoing has many famous fans. Kim Kardashian, Hailey Bieber; they all posted on Instagram the question: ‘Who Killed Elena Alvarez?’
