You on time, your girlfriend not?

You on time, your girlfriend not?

You can say a lot about me (that I forget birthdays for example and I'm not really a kitchen princess), but I'm always on time. Usually five minutes early. Because the rest of the world isn't like that, or at least not everyone, there are tactics to ensure they are on time too.

1. Order her a quarter of an hour earlier
You say you're having lunch at 12:30 and reserve between 12:45 and 13:00.

2. Meet at a place where you enjoy yourself
I traveled a lot with a colleague who was chronically late. Every morning I found myself waiting in a noisy hotel lobby for her. Until I realized that the Starbucks around the corner was much cozier. And yes, I would also order my breakfast in advance. Regards.

3. Text the other person when you leave with a kindly I-see-you-so reminder.

4. Tell the other person in advance how much time you have for the appointment. If you only have an hour and a half for lunch, hopefully they won't arrive half an hour late.

They might think you're a total nag, but at least you're on time.
