21 x things you think during a spinning class

Since summer is now dangerously close, I decided last week to book a spinning class again. And not because I find it such an incredibly fun activity, but because this is the only class where I sweat. As soon as that door to the room closes, I know I will be exhausted for 45 minutes only to be rewarded with a good feeling about myself. It sounds like I visit the spinning studio regularly, but that is far from true. After such a class, I'm usually done for about three months. Therefore, I share the thoughts that go through my mind while I sit on that annoying bike. My fellow sufferers (who also have a love-hate relationship with spinning) will undoubtedly recognize the thoughts below.
1. Shit, why am I sitting right at the front?
2. What are these weird shoes, anyway?.
3. Why did I book this class again?
4. Why aren't those shoes clicking into my pedals?
5. Everyone here is always so serious.
6. Oh no, the door is closing, no turning back.
7. My god, why do I have such an overenthusiastic instructor?
8. Why does my Dutch instructor speak American?
9. How can all these people possibly pedal in time?
10. If I keep this up, I'm really going to fly off that bike.
11. I'm just going to turn my knob to the left, okay.
12. Shit, the instructor is walking by, quickly turn that knob to the right.
13. Okay, the coast is clear, that knob is going back to the left.
14. How long have we been at it now?
15. WHAT? The warm-up just ended? You can't be serious.
16. How can people bike for fun in the wild?
17. Just give in to it.
18. Finally: the cooling down. This was actually quite nice.
19. HELP my shoes are stuck in those damn pedals.
20. I really need to do this more often.
21. But for now, I'm not booking this class again.
