Adele receives criticism in Vegas: not in good voice

Do we still remember the whole fuss around Adele and her concerts in Las Vegas? Let me give you a little refresher: in January, Adele's residency in Las Vegas was set to start. This means she would go on tour, but at one location. Many stars have done this in Las Vegas, such as Céline Dion, Bruno Mars, and Britney Spears. The advantage for the artist is that they can stay in one place and still do many concerts. Especially in Adele's case, who has indicated several times that she doesn't really like touring because she would be constantly traveling.

At the end of January, she was supposed to start, but less than 24 hours before the first concert, she canceled everything. Not very pleasant (understatement) for the fans, as they had already booked all their flights and hotels for their evening with Adele. And Las Vegas is not exactly known for being cheap... But Adele promised to make it up, and she kept her word; that residency has finally begun.

And she will be at Ceasar’s Palace until March 2023. By the way, there are still tickets available, starting from $814. Quite a hefty price, I must say. But well, you get what you pay for, because Adele doesn't perform that often, and I remember tickets for her concert in the Ziggo Dome were also resold for thousands of euros.

Unfortunately, it's not just praise that the singer is receiving, as a week after her first show, there is already a flood of criticism on Twitter and TikTok. The reason? The singer is said to be absolutely out of voice, and now fans are worried about how she will manage to keep this up until March next year.

Adele ends every show with the song Love Is A Game, and a concertgoer made the video below of that. Well, I still absolutely can't do it like her (although I sometimes think I can do it in the late-night hours in a karaoke bar), but this is indeed not the Adele we know and love to see.

And the reactions on TikTok are also harsh: ‘I love Adele, but she sounds terrible,’ ‘do people really pay so much to listen to this?’ Oh well, let's hope it was just a bad night. Such a waste of that $814 otherwise (and then you also have the worst seats).
