Oooh, I am really looking forward to this summer. I don't need to tell you that the last two summers didn't go exactly as planned (for everyone), but well – that's fortunately in the past. We have some catching up to do, some celebrating, and I plan to make it a real festival summer.
That does require quite a bit of planning, by the way, because this summer there is an abundance of festivals every weekend. For us festival-goers, of course, it's a luxury problem, so choices had to be made. Which ones are we going to attend? For me, the first one was quickly clear: to Awakenings Summer Festival. I had to go there. For C-who-must-not-be-named, this was also a fixed date for me every year, and you just know this is going to be a blast. The line-up is always top-notch, the organization is tight, and I find the size perfect as well.
And this year I really wanted to go, because it's a special edition: not only has the festival been around for 25 (!) years, but it's also a weekend event for the very first time. Whuut. That means going all out on Friday, Saturday, AND Sunday with Joris Voorn, Ben Klock, Adam Beyer, Raven, Nina Kraviz, Rod, Len Faki, Reinier Zonneveld, Loco Dice, Charlotte de Witte, Amelie Lens, Maceo Plex… Should I keep going? Check the entire timetable on the Awakenings website, because you will be very happy about that.

Handy: there are also day tickets available for when you don't want to attend the whole weekend. And yes, you read that right: you can still score a ticket. Go, go, goooo because the Saturday tickets are already sold out.
