Whut: baby talk has a positive effect on your sex life

in love couple talks to each other in baby talk

If there is one thing I really can't stand, it's adults who use a baby voice. No idea why, but I just can't handle it. No, not even when that baby talk is directed at babies. I find it cringeworthy. Like nails on a chalkboard. And that's bad news for me, because speaking this way apparently has a positive effect not only on your relationship but also on your sex life.

How is that possible?! Apparently, using certain childish words among each other is very good for the bond between you and your partner. Especially diminutives; not seriously talking in babble language. According to relationship psychologist Nina Oudshoorn, this is really part of a relationship: ‘It shows that you dare to be completely yourself and feel comfortable with the other person.’ No idea why baby talk equals being yourself, but given my single status, I might not have the best perspective on this.

And being completely yourself and having your own little language creates more intimacy, which in turn works very positively in the bedroom. According to Nina Oudshoorn, we should not use such a baby voice when engaging in foreplay, but it is really the close bond that leads to better sex. I can agree with that.

I'm afraid I won't be able to get over this annoyance, so who knows, that might lead to only bad relationships for me in the future. But if you can handle baby talk just fine, then I would say: go for it.
