Celebs who are very different behind the scenes

celebs who are very different behind the scenes

They say you should never meet your heroes, because it will only disappoint you. Now, in many cases, that is absolutely not true (I envy the people who have been lucky enough to meet Robin Williams), but in other cases, you would have preferred to keep that image of someone in your head. But some celebs approach it very differently: they have created a completely different persona in the media, while they are very different behind closed doors. Like these five below.

1. Gordon Ramsay
I think this is now generally known, but if you still doubt: no, in real life he is not a screaming tyrant running around the kitchen yelling. If you've ever seen the British version of Hell's Kitchen, you probably noticed that it's much less intense there. Yes, in America everything is bigger and better, so is the drama that Ramsay had to show. Fun fact: he even gets four stars on this site where you can rate your employer.

2. Julie Andrews
She used to be my great role model as Maria in The Sound Of Music (seriously, best movie ever, I said what I said), and then I saw her in Mary Poppins and of course much later in The Princess Diaries. After those films, I concluded that she was an incredibly proper English lady. Turns out that's not true at all. Well, she must be proper, but people around her say it's amazing how foul-mouthed she is behind closed doors. Love it. Still my role model.

3. Alice Cooper
I've heard many times that the hardest metal rockers are actually sweethearts, but I still find it hard to reconcile. Take those guys from Rammstein, I still have nightmares from their music videos, and they are really tender in real life? I can hardly imagine it. Just like Alice Cooper, who can also look quite frightening with his makeup. Turns out this man is a very articulate, gentle Christian. Never expected that.

4. Julia Roberts
Aiii, this one is a bit disappointing, because the woman with the widest smile in Hollywood is apparently not a jokester behind the scenes. No, she yells at everyone, especially the ‘normies’ who don't matter or people working on a set that she finds beneath her, and she is extremely bossy. Seriously, in every online topic where it is asked ‘which celebrity is not as nice as he/she/they seems?’ she comes up. Just watch for it. When she played Tinkerbell in the movie Hook, people on set even called her Tinkerhell.

5. Marilyn Monroe
She may have pretended to be a dumb blonde, but nothing could be further from the truth. Miss Monroe was actually an incredibly intelligent woman and quite a bookworm. She loved to read James Joyce and was so attracted to Arthur Miller, whom she later married.
