Science says: clumsy people are actually intelligent

She reads laughing on her phone on the couch

Yesss, this is nice. I came across this little study on the internet and it makes me incredibly happy, because I am really the clumsiest person in my surroundings. Now I also have a certain deviation in one eye that prevents me from seeing depth and makes me even clumsier. Especially when there's a drink involved, I can't see the distances at all anymore.

But knocking things over, tripping, slipping, that sort of thing; it all happens to me. My ex fortunately found it cute that I was quite (understatement) clumsy, I mostly found it annoying. I say 'found' indeed, because research shows that clumsy people are actually very intelligent. HOPPA, in the pocket.

By the way, I still don't know if I find this a watertight study, but we'll just take that for granted, because the outcome suits me very well. Research would indicate that a sign of intelligence is indeed clumsiness. But there's more. The two left-handed among us would also be the adventurous people, and the cause of that can be traced back to our childhood. Adventurous and clumsy people were allowed more freedom as children by their parents. This way, we could go our own way more, go out exploring more, and voilà: an adventurous character is born. Apparently.

As a final advantage, clumsy people also suffer less from being overweight. Whut? Yes, this is also due to that upbringing; because we were allowed to be so free as children, we could determine for ourselves how much food and candy we consumed, and as a result, we kept ourselves better in check.

I don't know about you, but I'm going to mark this study as a favorite and shove it in everyone's face every time I knock something over. I'm just a really smart girl.
