It's all drama surrounding the film Don't Worry Darling

It was quite hot news that Harry Styles landed a leading role alongside Florence Pugh in a new thriller. It was even hotter news when it turned out that Harry Styles ran off with Olivia Wilde on set, who was still with actor Jason Sudeikis at the time. The two have still not confirmed their relationship, but we have certainly seen enough evidence: they are often spotted together, attended weddings together, and Olivia Wilde is frequently present at his concerts.
It was still pretty good publicity for the film in question: Don’t Worry Darling. Olivia Wilde also has a small role in it (she plays Bunny), and people are naturally curious about how one of the most famous singers in the world performs as an actor. We could already see him for a moment in Dunkirk and honestly: I thought he did it really excellently.
But for the past week, things have not looked so rosy anymore, as it has become a true PR nightmare behind the scenes. Particularly Florence Pugh is completely fed up. Fans have already noticed that she posted very little about the film on Instagram (only once), that she had zero interaction with Olivia Wilde (even though she was tagged in her Stories and posts), and as a cherry on top, she admitted in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar that she was frustrated with how the film was presented. There are quite a few sex scenes in the trailers, which she believes are unnecessary.
‘When your acting work is reduced to your sex scenes, or just to see the most famous man in the world perform oral sex, that’s not why we do this. That’s not why I’m in this industry.’ It seemed like a little jab at Olivia, which only fueled the rumors that the two were not getting along. Florence Pugh would also disapprove of Olivia cheating on her husband with Harry Styles.
Those rumors seem to be becoming more and more true, as Florence Pugh is skipping all promotional events surrounding the film. She will attend one, in Venice, but otherwise, she will do nothing to promote the film. If you didn’t know: that is very exceptional.
Fans seem to be choosing Florence Pugh's side, and as a result, Olivia Wilde is becoming less and less popular. This week, it got even a bit worse when Olivia said in an interview with Variety that she had fired Shia LaBeouf. He initially had the role of Jack and was replaced by Styles.
But that seems to be far from the truth. Shia LaBeouf immediately responded that he had stepped down himself and that he was disappointed regarding Olivia's comments. But there was more: a video leaked in which Olivia practically begs Shia not to step down and to give the film one more chance. She also says that ‘this could perhaps be a wake-up call for Miss Flo,’ referring to Florence Pugh. And the entire internet is reacting to that; it is almost undeniable that this was anything but kind towards Pugh.
And in the meantime, I hadn't even seen the entire trailer, but I'm feasting on all the drama. Secretly, I do want to see the film, although it worries me that we hardly hear Harry Styles talk in the trailer. There was quite a bit of speculation about that; he supposedly put on a very strange accent during filming. Oh god… This is going to be something.
