Expedition Robinson: Aftershow episode 9

Finally, I was ready for it again on Monday night. The last few weeks I have been watching it back and that's of course perfectly fine, but quite difficult because I have to avoid Twitter, but also Facebook and nowadays also Instagram, otherwise you immediately get a spoiler.

Now this episode was already a bit spoiled by gossip channels; they had already predicted that Ilias would leave early. Is there a doctor in the roooom? Not if it’s up to the present Expedition crew. Pfff.

1. A washed-up needle? What the..? I would be really scared. Holy shit, that he was still so relaxed at that Island Council, I mean. Completely understandable that something snaps if you are not taken seriously by the present production… Very curious if they will come up with a statement because this is quite a big miss, right?

2. Nice start this is: Ilias gone and everyone is in tears. Day 20 everyone is just a bit too heavy and since I have officially been a fan of Dzifa since the last episode, it would really suck if she decides to quit.

3. Fiiihiiinaaaally. The merge. IT IS HERE. Every time it really feels like months before this moment finally arrives.

4. I can’t say much sensible about this captain's challenge. What a crappy challenge. It always makes me so fidgety. But well, I always have shaky hands and I am clumsier than all Robinson participants ever combined.

5. That merge dinner already sounds like music to my ears and I just ate, let alone if you haven’t had anything normal in 20 days. I really fear what monster would come out of me.

6. Sorry guys, I really have to get this off my chest: I’m not entirely sure if I really feel this season of Expedition. A lot is happening, but it still feels a bit… Boring?

7. What I am really excited about is that there is again a Loser Island. We can watch how people slowly go completely crazy from being alone. Does Rijk Hofman still hold the record? What. A. Hell.

8. It’s of course super unfortunate if you have to go home just before the merge, but just think about the dinner you can order when you get to your hotel. Everything from room service. UberEATS. Pizza. McDonald's. Then you really won’t be upset that you missed that dinner on that island, you know.

9. A Plunder Alarm? REALLY? That goes off when a plunder is initiated? Meanwhile, no one in the Netherlands — and on that uninhabited island either — has any idea what that Plunder actually does.

10. Maybe I’ll start a petition for a name change for that thing. Plunder sounds so clumsy.

11. Mike: ‘I’m going to build a one-person hut… Because I don’t feel like building a bigger hut.’ Waterproof argument. I think that one hut is already quite an achievement.

12. And as is the case every week, the Twitter users were again the real heroes of the episode: the funniest tweets in a row.
