Tip from the editorial team: the best face masks to have at home

Babor face masks for home

When the world went into lockdown during the corona period, I started to delve into something that had previously been a strange world for me: skincare at home. Sure, I used day and night cream, but that was about it. Occasionally visiting the beautician was enough for me. But that was no longer possible, and suddenly I was home more than ever. The result: a lot of free time and not exactly a healthy lifestyle, and I really saw that reflected in my skin right away.

Now, I am quite a novice in this area and also quite impatient, which turned out to be not the best combination. That's why I asked my fellow Amayzer Wieke for help: what really works for my skin? And especially: what works quickly and doesn't take up too much of my time?

We ended up with Babor and I have had it at home for quite some time now, and I seriously don't want anything else. Recently, I have actually only been using their new sheet and cream masks — they work wonders for my skin in fifteen minutes, and that's really very manageable for this impatient person.

They have four different masks (the Hydro, Lifting, Calming, and Cleanformance), and I immediately got all four at home. In the summer, my skin can sometimes be dry, so I always use the Creaming Cream Coated Mask. It really hydrates in no time and is full of hyaluronic acid. As the name suggests, this mask also has a calming effect, so it's great for stressed skin. I can sometimes over-schedule myself during those summer months, and I really notice that in my skin. Working, immediately going to the terrace, little sleep, and continuing on... Not exactly the ingredients for radiant skin.

If my skin feels very dry or if I've spent a bit too much time in the sun one day, I grab the Hydro – Hydrating Bio-Cellulose Mask . Conveniently, this product is very nice to use in combination with aftersun. I have quite a pale skin (and burn really gi-gantic fast if I'm not careful), and I can tell you: this feels so nice. Cooling and super hydrating. That's why I often leave it on my face for an extra five minutes, totaling about twenty minutes.

The other two masks (Cleanformance – Hemp Fiber Sheet Mask and Lifting – Tightening Cream Mask) are now part of my skincare routine. As far as you can speak of a routine, by the way: I often forget to apply all the products and can be quite lazy about it. That's why I wanted at least one product that I can use and that still gives me the feeling that I see a difference right away. I have been using the Lifting Mask multiple times a week in the evening while lying on the couch. The name says it all a bit, but after use, your skin really feels tighter. It's definitely a recommendation to use it in the afternoon if you have a party in the evening, because I immediately look a lot fitter and more awake.

Last but not least: the Cleanformance Mask I also bought, partly because it is really special for young skin; and I still consider myself at 25 years young to fit into that category. It is completely vegan and very refreshing. I use this when I feel like my skin is asking for it, because I have the impression that my skin responds very well to the hyaluronic acid in it, combined with the hemp base. Nice: this mask doesn't leave your skin shiny, as is sometimes the case with other masks.

So here is a sincere tip from the editorial team: these four masks are really a lifesaver to have at home. Several friends are now also addicted because you see a difference right away, and we love that. Okay, one more extra tip: store them in the fridge. Ultimate cooling and great for your skin.
