Lay's, official partner of FIFA World Cup 2022, recently launched three new flavors, specially for the World Cup. But instead of receiving extreme enthusiasm, the new flavors mainly evoked feelings of nostalgia. The internet went wild about old chip flavors that should preferably be brought back by Lay's immediately. These chip flavors are the ones you miss the most.
We're talking about bags of Lay's that you can no longer buy in the Netherlands, such as Lay's Stokbroodje Kruidenboter; what a hit that was. Good news: at Rewe in Germany, this is still available.
Lay's Mango Red Chili
FavorFlavs Wieke misses the black bag Lay's Barbecue in the Netherlands enormously. So we always bring that back for her from France (where you can buy very tasty Lay's). And the Cream & Chives. And she is not the only one, because many people miss this classic. Another huge loss is Lay's Mango Red Chili. This flavor lost out at the time against Lay's Patatje Joppie. A petition has even been set up for Lay's Mango Red Chili. Yes, you can still sign, you know, if you want this flavor back on the shelf as soon as possible.
Lay's Superchips Hot Wok Chili
There has been action for the return of Lay's Superchips Hot Wok Chili for years. Some submitted responses:
‘Dear Lay's, as you can see, many people are very disappointed by your decision. Also in the petition, at the time of writing, there are at least 312 people who want this flavor back. Hopefully, you will reconsider. I have been waiting for this flavor for eight years. Don't let us down, Lay's…’
‘Still my favorite chips. You still haven't managed to bring a decent alternative to the market. Just launch this again. Done.’
‘Yessss!!!!!! Have I been waiting for 11 or 12 years for !!!!!! There have never been such delicious chips as these.’
Lay's Nori Seaweed and Lay's Lobster
And if I may make a request myself: I really want Lay's Nori Seaweed in the Netherlands. Chips with sushi flavor: how delicious does that sound? Eaten in Thailand, delicious!
And in Azerbaijan, I found Lay's Lobster. Chips with lobster flavor: divine! (I of course immediately contacted Lay's, but there are currently no plans to introduce this flavor in the Netherlands...)
