What: attractive people are less likely to get corona?

In my surroundings, almost everyone has had corona at least once. Some are already on their second round and a few have just caught every wave. The unlucky ones. But there are also a few exceptions who have managed to avoid it all. And those — now that everything is open again, I hope I can say this — didn't always strictly adhere to the measures. While I was dutifully keeping one and a half meters distance, not inviting anyone home, all that nonsense, they were just hopping from house party to house party and therefore simply didn't get corona. Not once. So unfair.
The other week we were discussing it at the office: are those people just immune and if so, what is that due to? Different blood types were mentioned (and I found out that I didn't even know what blood type I actually had), but when I got home, I quickly stumbled upon a study that provides the enlightening answer... It's due to your looks. Yep: more attractive people get corona less quickly.
Well, that's a bit of a simplification, but there is really a kernel of truth in it. The scientific journal Proceedings of the Royal Society the study concludes that your appearance really contributes to good health.
The research was conducted among 79 women and 80 men, whose photos were taken. They also had to have their blood drawn. In the photo, they were not allowed to wear makeup and had to show a ‘neutral facial expression’. Subsequently, 492 volunteers had the difficult task of assessing the attractiveness of the participants. Those assessments were then compared with the results of the blood tests and voilà: the answer was there.
The people who were labeled as attractive were indeed healthier, as shown by the blood test. They would also have a better immune system and therefore be less susceptible to corona.
Ah, do I believe in this research? I think it's mainly fun that you can use this as justification if you've never had corona, but ultimately beauty is really in the eye of the beholder, right? A small example: I suddenly don't find Pete Davidson normally attractive anymore, but I wonder if he would score high in this little study.
