Hotspots in Soho, London

Soho London tips

I was recently in London, for the first time in years, and I fell in love with the city again. Few cities gain more charm from winter; but London does. That makes it a perfect destination for both summer and winter. This time I stayed in the Soho district, and I could easily have stayed a week there; so many nice spots here. And of course, I've lined them all up for you. Extra tip: I stayed at the hotel hub by Premier Inn, super central in Soho, very affordable AND super comfy beds. Highly recommended, and within crawling distance of the hotspots below.

1. The Ivy Brasserie

The Ivy hotel is of course a well-known name, but honestly: I found the brasserie more enjoyable. Very colorful, delicious cocktails AND good food. Be sure to order the Zucchini Frittes (zucchini fries), sooo tasty.

2. NOPI

A restaurant by Ottolenghi, so you know the food is good, AND that vegetarians will be very happy here. I was there for lunch (definitely make a reservation for both lunch and dinner) and it was truly enjoyable. The interior is nice and clean, sleek and modern. And definitely check out the restroom, because that's quite an experience.

21-22 Warwick St, London

3. Bao

One of the most popular spots at the moment in Soho, London. The name speaks for itself: here you eat bao, but the very best. It's not a place to linger long, but ideal for a quick and delicious lunch.

53 Lexington St, London

4. Bob Bob Ricard

Another well-known name in Soho, or actually all of London. This place is famous for their ‘Press for Champagne’ buttons. Nice Instagram-worthy, but fortunately the rest of the ambiance and the food are also worth a visit. The menu is classic British with French influences.

1 Upper James St, London

5. La Bodega Negra

Here you want to eat, but you really need to reserve well in advance – because it's always full. The menu features Mexican street food and it's really incredibly delicious. Fun atmosphere too, really a party, but not recommended for an intimate dinner. Things can get quite lively here.

9 Old Compton St, London

6. Tattu

This is a restaurant that I hope we will also get in the Netherlands someday: a trendy, modern, and above all very good Chinese restaurant. And this is also a rooftop spot. With good cocktails. Yes, you want to go here.

The Now Building Rooftop, Outernet, Denmark St, London

7. INKO NITO

Of course, a good Japanese restaurant cannot be missing from this list. Here you eat sushi, but also other dishes like pork cheek with Korean miso, and amazing snacks like beef truffle sando (a Japanese sandwich). Sooo delicious.
