What lady Di wanted to say with this sweater

Lady Diana, today 25 years no longer with us. Like all of you (of my age then), I still remember exactly where I was when I heard it. I was driving my old Toyota Starlet towards Arnhem, turned on the radio and heard the newsreader say: ‘Lady Diana Spencer has turned 36 years old.’

She still stirs and unsettles, and we still find new details about her life. What I was quite proud of was the black sheep sweater that she wore to a number of polo matches. Diana, who of course was not allowed to say anything about The Crown, found in clothing her way to express her feelings. Look at the revenge dress or her sexy, business suits that she dared to wear after her divorce. The black sheep sweater was her way of letting us know how she felt: the outsider, the odd one out.
