Wow: McDonald's has a bizarre new ice cream flavor

Say wine, snacks or haute cuisine and the gourmands at online food magazine FavorFlav know where to drink, how to eat it and what to cook. This time our cheffies serve you: McDonald's has a bizarre new ice cream flavor. You either love it or you hate it: cilantro. The new ice cream that McDonald's is introducing in China will therefore not appeal to everyone. On the menu is soft serve ice cream with cilantro leaves and cilantro sauce. Huh, WHAT?!? No matter how much of a health freak you are, a soft serve always goes down well. Especially at McDonald's, those cups with caramel sauce and nuts or with strawberry sauce are always emptied in a blink of an eye, not to mention the McFlurry. Perhaps the new ice cream flavor is better suited for people who have jumped on the health train: in China, you can order a soft serve ice cream with cilantro flavor at McDonald's.

Toilet soap An ice cream with… cilantro? For some customers of McDonald's, it will feel like they have taken a sip of bath foam. One in six people finds cilantro distinctly soapy. This seems to have something to do with a specific gene.
Ice cream with pizza flavor At Favorflav, we don't blink quickly, even when it comes to crazy ice cream flavors. What do you think about the ice cream pizza rolls that we came across? They are made by a Thai ice cream maker, with indeed a slice of pizza that disappears into cream and is topped with pepperoni and tomato sauce. And yet: an ice cream with cilantro flavor is at least surprising. We need to taste it to really say something about it. Who's coming with me to China?
