See: trailer of new Dutch thriller on Netflix

new trailer of netflix movie
In the past, in a distant time before Netflix, I didn't have much faith in thrillers from Dutch soil. In comedies either, for that matter. The only films we could do well were cringeworthy romcoms. Well, sorry, but that's really true. Fortunately, the arrival of Netflix has changed that, as it gave us series like Undercover and soon The Takeover. The latter is a thriller that will be online on November 1st and whose trailer has just been released. And then the most important thing: it looks really good.

It can't be any different with this cast, by the way: Holly Brood, Géza Weisz, and Frank Lammers. The first two have found each other because they are both being sought by Interpol; quite a dire situation to be in. The trailer doesn't reveal much of the story yet, but I see chases, police raids, escape scenes over water, and explosions that you don't often encounter in Dutch films. Yesss, this is going to be great.

Then let's dive into the plot: Holly plays Mel Bandison, an ethical hacker who completely dismantles an international criminal network through her work, which is of course not appreciated. Mel becomes their target and is also framed with a video claiming she committed a murder.

The person she seeks protection from is Thomas Deen (Géza Weisz), who is reluctantly dragged into her drama. That's why they seek out her old mentor, Buddy Benschop (Frank Lammers), who will try to help the two fugitives.

I think this is going to be quite a spectacle, you know. I'm ready on November 1st.
