The line of NikkieTutorials: hit or miss?
Make-up artist Nikki de Jager, also known as the one and only NikkieTutorials, launched her very first beauty brand last year: Nimya. The collection mainly consists of caring products. By the way, I find this extra nice, because we know her from her mega popular YouTube channel, where she conjures up one makeup look after another from her brushes and blenders. So you would expect a makeup line, right? At Nimya, it's all about embracing your personal beauty, in whatever way that may be. After three years of hard work, she was finally satisfied and launched the cruelty-free collection in the summer, which contains five products, and to be honest: everyone is mega enthusiastic. It may not be a complete skincare routine, but the products are perfect for under your makeup and they even make your look even more beautiful.
Where It All Starts Cream (€25.99)
This is a moisturizer that is also suitable as a primer. In the videos, you can see what it does to your skin: so beautiful and so glowy. Doesn't everyone want that? The moisturizing cream contains hydrating ingredients like glycerin and honey to soothe your skin. It also contains a mild lactic acid (AHA) that gently removes dead skin cells.

Set It & Forget It Setting Spray (€21,99)
I love a setting spray, especially after applying my makeup, to blend and fix everything beautifully. This spray contains PVP and provides a thin long-lasting layer over your makeup to prevent ‘wear’ and ensure that your makeup looks just as beautiful at the end of the day as it did after application. She describes it on her website as ‘your ultimate soulmate when it comes to keeping your makeup perfectly in place all day’, and that's exactly how it is.
Licence To Glow Serum (€31,99)
This blue serum provides the most beautiful glowy skin. The pineapple and grape fruit extract provide a mild exfoliating effect, preventing dullness. The Marula oil hydrates the skin and reduces redness if you suffer from it, and the grape seed oil contains vitamin E for a protective and smoothing layer on the skin. This serum works perfectly in combination with the cream, just check out the video below.

Brr Brr Cooling Eye Stick (€18,99)
With the enthusiasm with which Nikki says ‘brrr brrr’ in her intro video on the website, you're already sold. The cooling stick can be used under your eyes all day long and helps to hydrate the skin under your eyes and prevent puffy eyes. Green tea extract provides a calming effect and evens out discoloration. Caffeine reduces dark circles and silk amino acids tackle fine lines. For an extra cooling effect, you can also put it in the fridge, but don't forget to take it out. If I believe social media, it's definitely wise to put it in the fridge for a while, because otherwise the cooling effect is minimal.

Last but not least: Blow Before You Go Fan (€12,99)
This is no flimsy thing; if we are to believe Nikki, this fan literally blows you away with its power. Perfect to use after the setting spray, serum, or cream, but of course also just for on the go in the summer when it's scorching hot and your makeup shouldn't melt.
