These are the 6 upcoming trends from Copenhagen Fashion Week

Especially for the autumn/winter 2022-2023 shows, Copenhagen once again donned the most beautiful suits last week. And after having viewed and compared all the shows, outfits, and reports, it is now time to discuss a few upcoming trends, or our Copenhagen cravings. Six trends for which we would almost (I repeat: almost) want to skip summer to immediately start combining and experimenting for advanced next winter. Notepad ready? From incredibly hairy hats to off-piste trends, these are the 6 most important lessons we learned during Fashion Week from the Danes.

Off-piste
Anyone who thought that ski pants are only worn during winter sports is more than just mistaken. In fact: as soon as the temperatures decide to drop even a little, this is the pants you want to be seen in very Prada-ish.

Cargo chic
We had already seen it here and there: the cargo pants. But as much as during CFW surprised us. A pair of pants to keep an eye on, because if it’s up to the Danish fashion crowd, this is already the big winner for next winter.

Worries
We first saw it on the runway at Gucci, Calvin Klein, and Fendi, after which Copenhagen decided to fully embrace it. In fine cashmere to coarse knit, it is the balaclava a.k.a. ski mask that the fashion crowd increasingly prefers to throw over their heads as the cold days increase.

Snow shovels
And as if we hadn’t already paid enough tributes to winter sports, it is – made possible by Miu Miu and Chanel – also absolutely the intention to wear your snow boots off-piste. Under a mini skirt or dress to cargo pants and jeans; if we are to believe the fashion crowd, this is the new matchmaker that we are going to wear almost everywhere.

Hairy hat
Where last year it was mainly the bags, this year it is the hats that make our outfits extra cuddly. ‘The hairier the hat, the better it does’ is the wearing motto, with the CFW street style looks as proof.

A bag with rhinestones
À la Balenciaga or Prada, it is the bag that we love to dip in kilos of rhinestones, resulting in a dazzling shiny eye-catcher. Exactly what we need during the dark, dreary days of winter, right?
