RECIPE: PASTA à LA WODKA BY GIGI HADID

pasta a la vodka Gigi Hadid

Say wine, snacks or haute cuisine and the gourmands at online food magazine FavorFlav know where to drink, how to eat it and what to cook. This time our cheffies serve you: Gigi Hadid's pasta recipe.

Yes, here’s the proof again that I am a fully functioning alcoholic. Because generally, I hardly eat pasta and I definitely don’t make it for myself. But then I found a recipe with vodka and thought: hey, that’s for me. An added bonus is that it’s a favorite recipe of my girl crush Gigi Hadid, although I can’t believe she eats this weekly with a figure like that. But anyway, I tried it and I can tell you: this is delicious!

INGREDIENTS
1 shallot
2 tablespoons of butter
2 tablespoons of olive oil
2 cloves of garlic (preferably crushed)
200 grams of tomato paste
2 tablespoons of vodka
450 grams of pasta (I usually choose penne)
120 ml crème fraîche
50 grams of Parmesan cheese (according to the official recipe, I always add more)
fresh basil
chili flakes to taste
pepper and salt to taste
optional: burrata

And this pasta is also ready so quickly, which I always find a plus. I’ll take you through the steps.

How to make Gigi Hadid's vodka pasta

  • Chop the shallots and crush the garlic and sauté them in a pan with olive oil
  • Add the tomato paste, chili flakes, basil, and salt and pepper
  • Cook this on low heat for about ten minutes
  • Meanwhile, cook the pasta al dente (I usually choose penne, but buy it at an Italian delicatessen because that’s so much tastier)
  • When the pasta is al dente, put it in a pan with the butter (preferably unsalted butter)
  • Then add the tomato paste and crème fraîche to the pasta
  • Add the vodka (finally) and gently stir the pasta together
  • Add the Parmesan cheese (I always add way too much, because more cheese = more bliss)
  • TADAAA. Done.

Well, unless you (like me) add half a ball of burrata per person (see the note above about more cheese). It’s not necessary, but it’s really delicious. And of course, you sprinkle some more Parmesan cheese on top.
