There are probably few breakfasts in the Randstad that have become as popular as toast with avocado. And although you can easily spend around ten euros in various places for a slice of toasted bread with such a green array of healthy fats on it, you can, with a little patience, also absurdly easily make it yourself. And this tip might come in very handy.

Avocado, whipped light and mixed with cream cheese. If you buy the light version of cream cheese, it is usually a bit wetter in texture, which also mixes more easily with the avocado. Add salt and pepper to taste, toast a nice sturdy slice of bread until golden brown, and spread the avocado-cream cheese mixture on top.
Ricotta works too, but that is often a bit pricier. An added benefit is that you can spread this on more slices of toast than if you were just using avocado.
