For about half a year now, I have had YouTube Premium and I am completely satisfied with it. Before that, I didn't really watch YouTube often, not for music and certainly not for YouTubers, but since this subscription, I have become addicted and have started binge-watching heavily. And that is also the moment I started watching all episodes of Open Kaart at record speed. Such a brilliant concept: actually very simple, but so well executed. That is of course due to the guests, but let's be honest... It is mainly because of Robbert Rodenburg.

Because how incredibly fun he is. So sincere with his guests, interested, very clearly well-prepared and I don't know how he does it, but it is truly a gift to be able to put all guests at ease. Often I felt almost like an intruder, as if I was eavesdropping on a conversation between two friends, and I mean that very positively. He manages to show each guest from a surprising side. For example, Romee Strijd, whom I had never seen in such an interview (and who opened up about the celebs she met at parties), or his beautiful conversation with Thomas van der Vlugt about faith and the tougher periods in life.

So you can imagine that I was also very happy that there was a new video online again. And this time in a new concept: Terug Naar Toen, in which he looks back on the last years with his guest. In the first episode, he has Maxime Meiland opposite him, who has not always been very positively in the news lately. Due to statements from her mother, for example, who compared Muslims in her book to penguins. I think many people would approach such a conversation with a stiff leg, but not Robbert: he remains calm, understanding, and respectful, listens to what she has to say, but also knows how to clearly formulate his own vision, resulting in an honest and pure conversation between the two.

Hats off Robbert, I am and will remain a big fan of your YouTube series. And when is your talk show coming on TV? I think it's just a matter of time.
